About the role
Scout Discoveries is an agile, growing mineral exploration company based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Scout is vertically integrated by design which keeps discovery costs down and lets the company explore more often, learn faster, and keep the economics in its own hands.
Just as deliberately, Scout takes great care of its people. The company is optimizing how its team works as it grows, and building a culture of entrepreneurship, learning, and looking out for one another, made up of people who believe in the mission and in this industry. In Idaho, Scout is the largest holder of unpatented claims and one of the state's most active explorers, across three Tier One mining districts with projects in gold, silver, and copper.
We drill. We discover. We do it again, until discovery stops being luck.
The Driller is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of the drill rig while leading the drill crew, shift after shift. This role is accountable for the safety, performance, and professionalism of the crew assigned to the rig.
Drillers at Scout lead by example: mentoring Drill Helpers, planning and monitoring drilling activities, protecting core quality, and making the call to stop work when conditions call for it.
