About the role
Scout Discoveries is a vertically integrated exploration and drilling company based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho — drilling and geoscience in house, an internal lab being built to close the loop — that takes deliberate care of its people while it pursues Tier One discoveries across the state. Scout is the largest holder of unpatented claims in Idaho, working gold, silver, and copper, and building a culture of entrepreneurship, learning, and looking out for one another.
Vendors who get paid correctly and on time keep a field operation running. AP that drifts — duplicate invoices, missed payment runs, or the same person originating and signing payments — creates cost, friction, and control risk a near-public company cannot carry.
Scout's transaction volume has outgrown a part-time AP position, and vendor interactions and payment runs have been landing on the Head of Office & Facilities as overflow. This role takes that back: one full-time owner for accounts payable and the vendor communication that keeps relationships smooth. AP consolidates fully here, out of the office function, which fixes the originate-and-sign control risk as Scout tightens its processes.
The role also supports the month-end close under the Controller, with AP accruals and reconciliations that keep the books clean, and brings AP filing and records current.
We drill. We discover. We do it again, until discovery stops being luck.
